The New York City based beauty mavens and co-founders Kayla MiChele and Christine Cherbonnier have secured coveted roles as leading hair and makeup experts for global fashion brands, prestigious publications and celebrities, with clients ranging from Vogue to Valentino.

Kayla MiChele is a notable high fashion and celebrity hairstylist, who was interviewed by Vogue Italia, for the November 2017 issue, featuring her as top talent. Her work has graced editorials and covers for Interview, W, i-D, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue (American and over ten international editions), with work for global fashion brands including Tom Ford, Versace, Chanel, and Givenchy.

She began her fashion career assisting acclaimed hairstylist Guido Palau, honing her craft backstage at shows including Celine, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs, Jil Sander, and Miu Miu.  

Since then, she has worked with top models, iconic artists and visionaries, creating sought-after looks for Joan Smalls, Gigi Hadid, Debbie Harry, Candice Swanepeol, Courtney Love, Jared Leto, and A$AP Rocky, among many others.

Inspired by nature, street style, vintage beauty, and architecture, Kayla is truly grateful to birth DOCUMENTARY BEAUTY as a platform to make people dream again.

Christine Cherbonnier

Christine Cherbonnier is a leading makeup artist whose work has adorned the pages and covers of Harper’s BazaarW Magazine, Interview Magazine, American Vogue, and numerous international editions of Vogue.

Christine launched her fashion career in New York assisting legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath on fashion shows for Calvin Klein, Versace, Anna Sui, and on multiple Vogue Italia shoots with Steven Meisel.

Since then, her work has covered the spectrum of fashion and the arts, including an iconic Interview Magazine cover with Craig McDean and Karl Templer, projects with Yoko Ono by Kishin Shinoyama, and a Valentino campaign collaboration with Vanessa Beecroft. She has served as legendary artist Yoko Ono’s personal makeup artist for the past seven years, creating looks for performance pieces, art installations at MOMA, and countless photo shoots. Other celebrities and top models she has worked with include Barbara Palvin, Cat McNeil, Daphne Groeneveld, Eniko Mihalik, Gal Gadot, Nick Cave, and Andre 3000.

Inspired by music, creative energy, and the power of duende, Christine is thrilled to introduce DOCUMENTARY BEAUTY and share this living documentary of beauty with you.
